OSCILLATION THEOREMS FOR A CLASS OF SECOND ORDER NEUTRAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS OF EMDEN-FOWLER TYPE

Some oscillation theorems are established by the averaging technique for a class of second order neutral differential equations of Emden-Fowler type. Our results essentially improve some known results in the previous literature.

On <Emphasis Type="Italic">U</Emphasis>-orthodox semigroups

As a generalization of an orthodox semigroup in the class of regular semigroups, a type W semigroup was first investigated by El-Qallali and Fountain. As an analogy of the type W semigroups in the class of abundant semigroups, we introduce the U-orthodox semigroups. It is shown that the maximum congruence μ contained in on U-orthodox semigroups can be determined. As a consequence, we show that a U-orthodox semigroup S can be expressed by the spined product of a Hall semigroup W _U and a V-ample semigroup (T,V). This theorem not only generalizes a known result of Hall-Yamada for orthodox semigroups but also generalizes another known result of El-Qallali and Fountain for type W semigroups. Multivariate irregular sampling theorem

In this paper,we prove a Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund type inequality for multivariate entire functions of exponential type with non-equidistant spaced sampling points. And from this result,we establish a multivariate irregular Whittaker-Kotelnikov-Shannon type sampling theorem.

在不要求C0-半群为紧半群的前提下．利用函数e^-λt（其中λ〉0是常数）和Monch不动点定理,在更广泛的条件下,得到了Banach空间中一类半线性混合型发展方程初值问题的整体mild解和正mild解,本质上改进和推广了已有相关结果．     

一类具有Watt型功能性反应的捕食系统的极限环与稳定性

研究一类具有Watt型功能性反应的捕食模型.讨论了该系统正平衡点的存在性以及非负平衡点的性态,应用Poincare-Bendixson定理和张芷芬定理,证明了极限环的存在性和唯一性,并采用构造Dulac函数的方法,获得了正平衡点全局渐近稳定性的一个充分条件.     

抛物型积分微分方程的非协调$H^{1}$-Galerkin混合有限元方法

H^1-Galerkin nonconforming mixed finite element methods are analyzed for integro-differential equation of parabolic type. By use of the typical characteristic of the elements, we obtain that the Galerkin mixed approximations have the same rates of convergence as in the classical mixed method, but without LBB stability condition.

Comparison of a homology model and the crystallographic structure of human 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11βHSD1) in a structure-based identification of inhibitors

Summary Human 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11βHSD1) catalyzes the interconversion of cortisone into active cortisol. 11βHSD1 inhibition is a tempting target for the treatment of a host of human disorders that might benefit from blockade of glucocorticoid action, such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes type 2. Here, we report an in silico screening study aimed at identifying new selective inhibitors of human 11βHSD1 enzyme. In the first step, homology modeling was employed to build the 3D structure of 11βHSD1. Further, molecular docking was used to validate the predicted model by showing that it was able to discriminate between known 11βHSD1 inhibitors or substrates and non-inhibitors. The homology model was found to reproduce closely the crystal structure that became publicly available in the final stages of this work. Finally, we carried out structure-based virtual screening experiments on both the homology model and the crystallographic structure with a database of 114’000 natural molecules. Among these, 15 molecules were consistently selected as inhibitors based on both the model and crystal structures of the enzyme, implying a good quality for the homology model. Among these putative 11βHSD1 inhibitors, two were flavonone derivatives that have already been shown to be potent inhibitors of the enzyme.
